Leslie Hawke, former Peace Corps volunteer to Romania, is the co-founder of Asociatia OvidiuRo, the Agency for Early Education, and founder of The Alex Fund, a US nonprofit that supports education reform in Romania. In the 20 years she spent in Romania, she had a pivotal role in transforming the conversation about early education in the country, as well as introducing the impactful way high profile individuals can support charitable organizations. She now serves on the Leadership Council of the Brookings Center for Universal Education.
